Achtung, die Kurve!

The original multiplayer snake game on one keyboard.

Game description
Achtung, die Kurve!, also known as Curve Fever, is a multiplayer game made in DOS in 1995, based on Snake. It lets up to 6 people play on 1 keyboard. The goal of the game is to survive as long as possible. You and your friends share the keyboard to control the line. The lines are constantly moving forward. The players can only adjust the direction of the line.

A player loses if his line touches a line or the border of the game. He then has to wait for the start of the next round to play again. For every player, you survive you get a point.

Achtung die Kurve is played on a single screen, so make sure you have some friends around!

How to play
In order to play you have to add at least two players. To do so you type in the players’ name in the input field on the right-hand side and choose a pair of keys to control the line. Then click on the “Add Player” button and the new player is listed in the player list. The colour helps you to identify your line in the game.

Once you have added two players you get the “Start Game” button, located above the list of players. Press it. A new game starts. Enjoy!

The New Achtung, die Kurve!

Game Description
Curve Fever Pro is the newest successor to Achtung, die Kurve. Developed by Hidden Monster Games studio, Curve Fever Pro is a free to play, online multiplayer game where you compete against 1 to 5 other players, trying to survive the longest and steal points from them. You have your ship on which you get 2 open slots to equip with abilities from a variety of 27 different powers. To equip a power you just have to drag and drop it to the prefered slot – top one for up arrow/ W key and the bottom one for down arrow/ S key.

Before being able to play with a power you have to unlock it by getting to the appropriate XP level. You will win XP from opening crates.

By playing you will earn up to 4 crates a day depending on what position you finish on: 1st – gold crate; 2nd – silver crate; 3rd – bronze crate; 4th,5th and 6th basic crate. Crates can be opened early with gems or after 20 h for free.

How to play
The goal of the game is to be the first to reach a set amount of points.

To do that you have to do 2 things:

  • Survive the longest by not hitting the curves left behind by ships or the borders of the arena;
  • Attack others for points using your chosen powers. The more points the person you attack has the more you can steal from them. Don’t forget to also protect yourself from attacks and traps that will steal your hard earned points!

Select “Quick Play” to play against other online players or “Custom Rooms” where you can create a private room and invite your friends to play.

Equip your ship with 2 powers (one for the “up”/”W” and one for the “down”/”S” buttons).

Steer your ship with the “left” and “right” arrows or the “A” and “D” keys.

Once you are ready, click “Play” and you will be matchmade with other players close to your skill level and the battle will begin!

Achtung, die Kurve! 2

Game Description
Achtung, die Kurve! 2 was renamed to Curve Fever 2.

In Curve Fever 2, you control your snake and it is your goal to cut off the other players with your snake, trying to stay alive as long as possible. Curve Fever 2 is best played with 6 players on 1 keyboard, but can also be played in an online multiplayer arena. What is truly special about Curve Fever 2, is that it is mostly played in schools/ academic environments as well as in a lot of work offices. We believe that the social interaction in schools/ offices adds up to the experience of the player. This social interaction gives players a much deeper experience than most other games can give, and thus gives Curve Fever 2 it’s popularity.

How to play
The player starts with a dot that extends infinitely as a line. The dot moves in a fixed space where the player encounters ‘power-ups’ that can make the line thicker, faster or slower. You control the dot with the arrow buttons on your keyboard. A player is disabled when they hit either a line or the border. If there is only one player remaining, the points are divided: 0 points for the first one that was disabled, 1 point for the second that was disabled, and so on. A new round starts after 5 seconds. The game ends when a player has reached a set number of points. The number of points the player has to achieve is determined by the number of players participating: 10 points with two players, 20 points with three players, and so on. The difference between numbers 1 and 2 should be at least 2 points at the end, otherwise, there is a so-called tiebreak. In that case, the difference between the numbers 1 and 2 must be two points.

The player can also play team games. The team of the last player who is left gets a point. If one of the teams gets ten points, then that team wins. Here too, the tiebreak rule is used.
